I create quilts and art because I am compelled to work with my hands and engage my mind in the act of creation. Making is both a necessity and a meditation, all in an effort to infuse everyday life with intention, care, and artistry.Briana is a multidisciplinary artist residing in the tranquil woods of Western Massachusetts, where the surrounding landscapes provide a constant source of inspiration. She holds an Associate’s Degree in Visual Arts from Holyoke Community College and a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art from Mount Holyoke College. Originally trained in oil painting, she has showcased her work at the Springfield Museum of Fine Arts, where her solo exhibition captured the expressive power of color and movement.
Now working primarily in fiber arts, she focuses on modern quilt making, blending traditional textile techniques with a painterly, contemporary approach. Her inspiration is deeply rooted in natural landscapes, especially the dynamic and ever-changing beauty of the ocean. Each quilt echoes the forms, colors, and textures of these vast environments, transforming them into tactile compositions. Self-employed for the past 15 years, Briana works from her woodland studio, where the quiet solitude she shares with her partner and one cat enriches her practice and her connection to the natural world.
