#whywemake
Object making is integral to who I am and how I’ve designed my life. The connection I've built with clay is something I never imagined - it is deep and unwavering. Clay has taught me patience and given me great joy.I am a ceramic sculptor turned lamp maker. Merging my clay skills with a passion for illuminated objects, I formally established Emily Duke Studio in 2020 to provide expertly crafted lighting for thoughtful interiors. Each piece is artfully designed and assembled to combine the beauty of ceramic with the seamless function of everyday lighting.
My approach to design and material process is all encompassing. Each lamp base is hand formed and highlights raw clay. Table lamps are fitted with a custom tailored, linen shade - made from scratch, right here in our shop.
No detail is too small.
