I make because that's what I am - a maker. I carve wooden spoons because the wood itself is just so lovely & variable & demanding (I don't do easy!) and a spoon is such a complicated, fascinating and infinitely variable shape...I've been carving, teaching and researching wooden spoons for more than a decade now, and they just get more interesting.
Spoons require a combination of beautiful form and real functionality.
Is it comfortable to hold? Is it easy to eat with?
