Born in Les Lilas, France, in 1984, she graduated from the École Supérieure des Arts et Industries Graphiques Estienne in 2005, before choosing to continue her training at the École Supérieure des Arts Visuels de La Cambre (Belgium), where she obtained a Master's degree in bookbinding in 2008.
She is one of the few people in Europe to master almost all of the 70 stages involved in producing an exceptional bookbinding. The finest manuscripts and rarest first editions come through her workshop in Brussels. Collectors know her and entrust her with their treasures. Training courses in this profession are becoming rarer, as are the number of masters. So Louise Bescond carries the legacy and the responsibility of a vanishing craft.
