Why I Make: It fuels my curiosity, love of problem-solving, and deep need for whimsy. It provides a purpose wrapped in a bit of fun and hopefully prompts a smile.Big, bold, colorful jewelry – artisan made.
There is no greater satisfaction than to take a sheet of metal–cut it, hammer it, solder it– and turn it into the design in my head. I use classic metalsmithing tools and new-fangled techniques–from a simple jeweler’s saw, repousse and chasing tools to anodizing titanium and I get to use a torch–this makes me happy.
Inspired by motifs from the 1920s, 30s, and 40s I try to interpret the details of what defined these eras into modern, minimal, every day jewelry and big, bold, statement pieces. I like accessories that are a bit quirky, unexpected, and always fun…. I hope you do too.
