It's really simple - making makes me happy. It doesn't matter what I make so much as that I am creating things with my hands. Exploring new materials and ideas scratches an invisible itch and gives me joy. If someone can use what I make in a functional way, it's just that much better.There was never a question that art would be my future. At the age of 5, drawing was my favorite activity, and I even won a coloring contest that year. The prize was a sit-and-spin. By the time college rolled around I struggled to find my medium. At graduation, all I had narrowed down was that I may never be good at ceramics, and that I adore furniture.
To this day, I haven't found 'the' medium, but now I know I'll never settle for just one. My past careers have encompassed interior design, graphic design, and print processing. I've enjoyed it all and found value in each aspect of those positions that I bring to my brand Ud Form.
Ud Form started as an idea for three wooden lamps. It has evolved into a niche brand of custom lamp shades, tassels, vintage candles, and art that allows me to continuously explore materials, processes, and new mediums. From textile arts to woodworking to branding and social media, I love the variation found in my day-to-day; it fuels my creative force.
