Market Q & A

• Why a paid subscription?

  We Make membership is free for everyone and we want it stay that way. However, some of our members, especially those who are regularly selling their work or taking commissions, will find certain features very valuable as tools for promoting their work. With their financial support of the platform, we can all benefit and progress toward making the work that’s most important to us.

  Additionally, some features could be abused by disingenuous users so only making those tools available to paid members helps protect the community experience.

• Who is the Market subscription not for?

  All makers are invited to upgrade to Market but if a maker’s intention is to promote sales and their posts are not getting curated in their craft then they’re going to get a lot less exposure.

  However, posts are curated individually and even a single curated post can bring attention to a maker’s catalog.

• What happens if I cancel my Market subscription?

  If a subscription is cancelled or expires, the maker’s Market-related links and announcements will no longer display on the platform though, of course, the maker’s posts themselves will remain. Once the paid-for period has ended, that member’s account will return to a free membership and include all free features.

• Can I get a refund?

  We don’t offer refunds but members can cancel their subscriptions anytime from their profile settings. We’ve chosen this approach to help discourage fake maker accounts that might try to take advantage of off-site links.

• How long will the discounted rates last?

  The discounted rates will last as long as the subscription remains active. Each discounted offer will only be available for a limited time.

• Are there any additional fees?

  No, there are no additional fees or taxes. The monthly subscription is a flat rate that doesn’t change based on usage or performance.
